Conversating

It's beginning to look a lot like that time of year again. Just the other day, the wife started asking me about what I wanted to do for Thanksgiving. Surprisingly, I wasn't really ready for it. It didn't hit me like a ton of bricks or anything but I did have a realization moment that, yes, Thanksgiving was not too far away to start making decisions about.

We generally go to either my folks' place or her mom's place for thanksgiving and the other for Christmas. Problem is, I really don't care this year. Just throw me in the car, point me in a direction and I'll stop when we get there.

Most of the reason it really doesn't matter is financial. Wherever we are, we won't be doing much but sitting around after dinner chatting and possibly playing cards. If we weren't barely making the house and car payment we might go to a casino in KC or maybe out to a movie. Since I know I'll be seeing both sets of 'rents before the year is over, I don't really mind who we start with. It should probably be who we didn't go see last year but I don't remember who that was.

At any rate I really need to call my folks just to check in. I think it's been 6-8 weeks since I talked to them.

Whew, now I can stop worrying about not having posted anything for over 10 days.
