They're Getting Braver

I received one of those bogus "update your account information" phishing emails, ostensibly from PayPal. I knew it was a fake because it started out with "Dear valued PayPal member." If it's legitimate, the email will start with your name.

Usually when you view these things, the text of the link looks like it is a valid paypal.com page. When you hover over the link, however, the URL that appears in the status bar at the bottom is anything but a paypal.com page. This last one takes the cake. They're not even trying to hide that it's not a valid PayPal page. Take a look (it's just a screenshot and not clickable).

I guess the identity thieves just don't care to hide so much anymore.
