Friday Favorites

Busy time of year. Haven't even had time to answer my own posts. So - better late than never.

Internet
What is your favorite...

1. ...Blog?
Other than family, the one I read most is Cop Talk. I also enjoy reading Wil Wheaton as long as I have time.

2. ...Shopping site?
eBay! eBay!

3. ...Entertainment site?
The Internet Movie Database. You can find information about movies, television shows, actors and actresses and a whole bunch more. They have birthdays, filmography, TV guest appearances, bios... almost anything you'd want to know.

4. ...Personal site?
I don't really have a favorite. Personal sites are pretty lame to me. Blogs are cool, though.

5. ...Reference site?
Second to IMDB, I'd have to say dictionary.com.

Games
What is your favorite...

1. ...board game?
Trivial Pursuit. I don't get much chance to play, though.

2. ...card game?
I'm hot on Texas Hold 'em right now but I'm not very good. When I play for real, though, I sit at the blackjack table.

3. ...video game?
Galaga. It's a classic and always fun.
The most innovative game I think I've ever played, though, was Dragon's Lair. The game featured 22 minutes of full animation that was put on a laserdisc. As Dirk the Daring made his way through the maze, you would move the joystick or push the buttons at certain times. These actions would bring up different animated segments - i.e. Push the right button and you saw Dirk slay the dragon. Push the wrong button and you saw the dragon slay Dirk. There are DL pagers here, here, and here.

4. ...video game controller? (i.e. joystick, game pad, ps2 controller, etc.)
I have a Thrustmaster X-Fighter joystick. The grip is fashioned after a F-15 or F-16 fighter control. It has 4 buttons and a hat switch. It like it because it's big and fat and fits in my hand well - unlike many new joysticks on the market today. (no jokes about fat joysticks named thrustmaster, please)

5. ...sport? (watch or participate)
I really loved Battle Bots before it went off the air.
