SPB Software recently had a half-off sale (it expired 12/31) and I went ahead and purchased SPB Mobile Shell. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner. It makes my phone usable again, gets rid of a lot of the quirks of TouchFLO 3D and is totally customizable. If you have a windows Mobile phone and you don't have this (I think it even works on non touch phones), don't wait any more. It is totally worth it.
